Who am I? About Me

My name is Edwin Ramírez, a painter and tattoo artist born in Manizales, Colombia, and now proudly based in New York City. With more than 20 years of artistic experience, I have dedicated my life to exploring the profound dialogue between realism, hyperrealism, and surrealism—both in the timeless elegance of black & grey and the vibrant force of color.

From an early age, painting shaped my vision of art as a mirror of emotion and identity. This passion naturally evolved into tattooing, where I discovered a medium capable of transforming the human body into a living canvas. Over the years, I developed a unique style characterized by high contrast, emotional depth, and meticulous detail, earning recognition not only as a creator but as a storyteller through ink.

My career has taken me across national and international conventions, where I have been honored with 26 awards in diverse categories. These achievements opened doors for me to serve as a judge in many major events, a responsibility that I embrace as a way of contributing to the growth and professionalism of the tattoo community.

Beyond recognition, what defines my journey is the privilege of being considered a reference in Latin American tattooing for the world. My style and technique have built bridges across cultures, allowing me to collaborate with leading global brands, share knowledge with upcoming generations of artists, and leave a lasting mark in both art and tattoo history.

Today, based in New York, I continue to expand my artistic vision—merging tattooing and painting into a practice that seeks not only beauty but meaning. Every piece I create is an invitation to explore light and shadow, reality and imagination, the visible and the hidden.
